Careless Days

The summer has been fun.  My kids have had all kinds of fun this summer.  Aleck and Jazzy have been traveling like crazy with their grandparents.  I have gotten postcards from them from varying states and cities. It must be great to have careless days. I remember those times from when I was a child.  I spent the days running around on my grandparents' farm.  I didn't have to do any work, but I was always under foot when my grandmother was out in the garden or when my grandfather was out in the field.  I always had dirty feet from running around barefoot. I got into more trouble because I would pick tomatoes off the vine, rinse them off in the sprinkler, and then eat them.  My grandfather always threatened to kill me, but my grandmother wouldn't let him.  She would say, "Let that baby eat them tomatoes.  Leave her be.  She ain't hurting nobody." Careless days were so fun.  Well, it's back to work for me. I gotta take a vacation. Lady Lo
